Division patch v1.1 is coming on April 12. This will include the RAID or incursion DLC among other new and updated features.

The first of two free expansions for The Division, titled Incursions, has been confirmed for arrival on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on April 12. Revealed in depth during today’s community livestream, Incursions adds a new endgame activity specifically designed for squad play, and rewards teams that come out victorious with high-level loot. Incursions also brings a loot-trading feature, letting you swap items with your squadmates.

The first Incursion, titled Falcon Lost, is set in a completely new, underground water-treatment facility that’s been turned into a stronghold for the Last Man Battalion. The Incursions update also includes the following changes and additions:

• New gear is a vital centerpiece of Incursions, which introduces four rare gear sets: Sentry’s Call, Striker’s Battle Gear, Path of the Nomad, and Technician’s Authority. Each set is meant to bolster a specific play style; Sentry’s Call promotes consistent precision, Striker’s Battle Gear is for assault-focused players, and so on. Finding and equipping four pieces from a single set unlocks a new, never-before-seen talent for your Agent, which the developers aren’t revealing yet.

• Agent level is still capped at 30, but your gear score can boost your abilities beyond your level, and are touted as a new way of leveling up for top-level players.

• Loot trading is now possible; if you get good loot, you can now drop it on the ground and make it available to other players in your group. In the Dark Zone, you can only drop loot inside the Dark Zone gate.

• Assignments are new tasks – killing 10 Cleaners, for example – that are meant as brief, optional side goals that update daily and can earn you Phoenix Credits, Division tech, and other rewards.

• Supply drops will periodically fall from the sky in the Dark Zone, giving you and other groups something to battle over. They’re also protected by tough enemies, but the loot doesn’t need to be extracted, as it’s uncontaminated, and can’t be stolen once acquired.

• When your Agent dies, you can now camera-follow your teammates, seeing what they see and offering tactical support.

• Falcon Lost has two difficulties: Hard mode, which is recommended for players whose gear score is equivalent to level 31; and challenge mode, which is even tougher. Also, there aren’t any checkpoints in Falcon Lost; if your team goes down, you’ll have to restart from the beginning. Additionally, you can replay Falcon Lost and other upcoming Incursions as many times as you want and still be rewarded with new loot.

• Enemies can now employ drones, aerial enemies that will be tricky to hit. You’ll also be pitted against an armored personnel carrier, which acts as a boss and is impervious to bullets, forcing you to find another way to deal with it.

Incursions will later be followed by another free update, Conflict, which adds a special incursion into New York’s Columbus Circle, as well as new Dark Zone features. Additionally, three paid DLC expansions are planned throughout the year – Underground, Survival, and Last Stand – which introduce new areas and threats to The Division’s open-world New York. Xbox One players will have 30-day exclusive early access to Underground and Survival, although Incursions, Conflict, and Last Stand will debut on all platforms simultaneously.

Here is the complete changelog: http://www.pcgamer.com/the-division-11- ... -released/

Some interesting parts:
[...]
Dark Zone

The vendor in the Church Safe House will now sell items in Dark Zone Funds instead of Phoenix Credits
Ranks requirements for Superior and High-End quality items at the Dark Zone Vendors have been adjusted:
* Superior (Purple) items: Rank 15 instead of 30
* High-End (Gold) level 30 (Gear Score 163): Rank 25 instead of 50
* High-End (Gold) level 31 (Gear Score 182): Rank 40 instead of 50
Added a new Dark Zone bracket for characters with Gear Score 160+

Crafting

Increased costs for converting crafting materials and crafting High-End items:
* 10 Standard (Green) materials instead of 5 to craft 1 Specialized (Blue) material
* 15 Specialized (Blue) materials instead of 5 to craft 1 High-End (Gold) material
* 10 High-End (Gold) materials instead of 8 to craft 1 lvl 31 High-End (Gold) item
Changed deconstruction yield of Standard (Green) and High-End (Gold) items:
* Deconstructing a Standard (Green) item yields 1 Standard material instead of 2
* Deconstructing a High-End (Gold) item yields 1 High-End material instead of 2
Added new level 31 and 32 High-End items Blueprints to Vendors
Removed Division Tech requirements from some level 31 High-End Blueprints
[..]
So better convert all green / blue materials into high end before the patch... ;)

Uhoh, looks like today's update has the potential to break the loot / crafting economy... See this breakdown:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/ ... 838f416353

A few discussion points:
  • Scavenging Will Feel Useless If It’s Not Perfectly Explained
  • Breaking Down Gear Or Selling will become a Devil’s Choice
  • Phoenix Credits Are Going To Be Much Less Valuable
  • High-End Items Won’t Feel Special Anymore
  • Almost Every Vendor is Now Pointless
  • Speed-Farming Is Going To Instantly Become A Problem
  • Overpowered Set Gear
I guess we'll see once we had a chance to play for a while with the new changes in place.

As of now Sidewinder, Drusin, BallZ and I are playing it. Mosquito played it too but is currently taking a break and BallZ isn't on TS since he has some weird sound issues when playing the game and being on TS. Oh and DirtyKurt has it but he is kind of AWOL.

I like it a lot so far. graphics and atmosphere are pretty darn good. It has an interesting mix of single player / multiplayer and PvP/ PvE elements, lots of promised updates and upcoming content (mix of free and not free).

Beer, Cybex and Bojac didn't really like it much I think. Not sure who else played the beta.Is it a gaming revolution that I'm gonna play for 500+ hours? No, probably not! Is it a good game worth buying? Yes IMO!

I Like it. You just have to remember to think of it more like a fps diablo rather than an mmo battlefield. That means the damage you give/take and effectiveness of skills is based on gear that you get by killing bosses and such. Anything you aren't way overleveled for will not go down in one or two shots (even headshots) and pvp is not in any way fair (skill can close the gap but gear makes a big difference). Combat uses 3rd person cover type mechanics. So combat is about as far removed from BF hardcore mode as you can get while still using guns.

Tactics do matter at endgame when doing things you aren't over geared for because proper timing of skills and use of cover/flanking can make or break a team. In evenly matched pvp encounters using the right skills at the right time can determine the winner. But I have yet to see a truly even pvp battle because one group or the other is always way better geared and as such stomps on the weaker group even when both are the same level. The recent patch may help to normalize this by making gear easier to get. But I dunno. I like the pve aspects as much or more than the pvp so far so I haven't gone seeking pvp in the darkzone much. Definitely more fun with people you know than randoms. But randoms have not been bad in my experience.

Too bad you missed open beta. That would have been time to see if it is your type of game or not.

Thanks for the useful feedback guys! I missed the BETA by a week. I'll check it out when it goes on sale next.
