I have to be reading this wrong. Buildings are demolished after just a couple of hours? Not great.

Somewhere around 4 hours or so. It is adjustable but just not ready for action yet, IMO
The 'science is settled' argument is inherently unscientific.

I don't know anyone that can stay logged in 20+ hours a day. That timeline is horrendous. Weeks, not hours before your base is destroyed.

Thats why its not turned on at this time.

Per earlier discussion on teamspeak

"Every building piece and placeable has a score based on its type."

"For structures (connected building pieces) an aggregated score is calculated by adding the score of all building pieces and attached placeables...."

More items = higher score = longer decay time. Individual items score is related to tier and type and whatnot. But ultimately more items = more time. Higher tier only affects individual times that are added to the whole. If there is an upper limit on decay time it isn't based on tier, only limited by the number of items connected. if working as described.

•(NEW CONTENT) Added two types of ammunition: Siege boulder and Demon-Fire barrage

•Added siege GUI for trebuchet where you can add counterweights to modify range and craft siege ammunition

•Gates can now be placed in gateways

•Fence foundations now snap correctly to sockets

•Changed the dodge mechanic to give more control such that you can no longer dodge while moving forward or partially forward.

•The Yellow Lotus Potion should now work as intended

•Certain religion and lore NPCs will now respawn correctly



Added in 4 minutes 2 seconds:
you need a "siege foundation"!!!

You need to learn the "engineer" skill, then work on the carpenter bench to build the foundation.
Then each piece is built upon the other piece. You place the foundation, then add material to it to build the base.
Then add material to the base to build the frame etc.

OK, figured out how to arm it and release it (tap E at the right place)

it destroys itself after maybe 10 shots or so, so you do need the repair hammer etc.

ServerSetting "FriendlyFireDamageMultiplier" if enabled no longer prevents players from taking fall damage
Setting MOTD through console now supports inclusion of URLs

Text and Localization
Added text for all new weapons, dyes and the Dogs of the Desert armor set
Added various translations for Brazilian Portuguese

Known issues
If you have a Thrall in your inventory when trying to dye an item, your game client will crash. This will be fixed in the next patch

In this update we're also switching over the server settings on some of our PvP Blitz servers. Starting today we're disabling avatars on the following servers:

Official 168 - America - PvP Blitz

UPDATE 24 - You can now explore the dark and mysterious Dregs

A new update has been released! This one come with a new dungeon, The Dregs, and several bug and exploit fixes. Please restart your games and update your servers to make sure you're on the latest version.

TL;DR (Patch Highlights)
•NEW CONTENT: Added a new dungeon "The Dregs"

•Re-enabled the hammer secondary attack

•Disabled 2H spear secondary attack

•Further tweaks to NPC camps (especially capitals) to allow them to respawn even if players have built close by

•Binding to a bedroll now respawns player correctly on death

•Upgrading foundations no longer destroys placeables on them

•Fixed a case where stackable items (arrows) in a container would disappear on server restart

•Fixed a client crash when having a thrall in your inventory and attempting to dye an armor piece
